he Bristol & Exeter Railway ran from Bristol to Exeter, with branches to Portishead, Clevedon, Wells, Weston-super-Mare, Yeovil, Chard, Minehead, Barnstaple, and Tiverton. The Truncheon below pre-dates 1876 when the railway was taken over by the Great Wester Railway (GWR).
