Stockport Borough Police

1870 - 1967

Stockport Borough Police was established 23 March 1870 and on 1 July 1967, became part of Cheshire Constabulary. 

Stockport Borough Police, PC 83 Depledge. Mr Jack Depledge joined in 1920 after service in Sherwood Forresters during the First World War. He was promoted to Sergeant and later Detective Sergeant.
